> "Forteresse défensive qui occupait une situation importante sur les confins du Bourbonnais. Des constructions du 15e siècle, restent le mur d'enceinte flanqué de deux tours, une tour isolée et une tourelle, le tout relié par des constructions modernes. La porte fortifiée comprend deux meurtrières à l'ouverture "amovible". L'ouverture extérieure est bouchée par un ovoïde qui porte en son milieu un trou par lequel le guetteur pouvait tirer. Le coup parti, l'ovoïde pivotait pour obturer entièrement l'ouverture."
