# Château d'Olmet

Vic-sur-Cère, Cantal, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

Château d'Olmet stands in Vic-sur-Cère (Cantal), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

In Vic-sur-Cère, the Château d'Olmet stands on a terrace above the Cère valley, facing the Château de Comblat whose proportions it partly echoes. This late 19th-century manor house, built in a classical style by a Parisian dairy-trade family who had made their fortune, combines a steeply roofed pavilion with a wing topped by a Mansard roof. The estate is chiefly remembered for its link to Colonel de La Rocque, who stayed there only as a tenant before the property became a home, and later a residential facility for disabled workers.
