# Château d'Entrechaux

No visits are on record for this building.

On the hilltop overlooking the village of Entrechaux and the Ouvèze valley in the Vaucluse stand the remains of a fortified castle dating back to the 10th century. Long held by the bishops of Vaison and later by lay families, it was plundered and dismantled during the Revolution, then used as a stone quarry in the following century. The three-part layout typical of Provençal hilltop castra can still be traced: keep, Saint-Laurent chapel, and enclosure wall.
