The château d'Auberville stands in Auberville-la-Manuel, in Seine-Maritime, a private estate best appreciated from outside its large rectangular enclosure. Built in grès stone and brick from the 15th century and altered over the following centuries, it is flanked by towers and glimpsed through three monumental gateways, including the Saint-Michel gate, a notable example of Henri IV-Louis XIII style architecture. The grounds still bear traces of their judicial past, with turrets and a former prison recalling the authority once held by the Toustain family.
