# Château d'Aiguèze

No visits are on record for this building.

The Château d'Aiguèze stands above the Ardèche gorges on the cliff where it was built, at the heart of a village listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France. Its three towers, including an 11th century tower known as the Saracen tower and a 12th century keep, reflect centuries of defensive alterations. Troglodyte watch paths carved into the rock complete the fortified complex, giving views over the valley and the Rhône. The site cannot be separated from the medieval village surrounding it, together forming a coherent place to wander through.
